Beach goers are being advised to watch out for heavy sea fog after three teenagers were rescued on Dublin’s Sandymount Strand yesterday.
The girls became disorientated when visibility suddenly dropped to about 100 metres and because of the incoming tide, they quickly found themselves surrounded by water.
They called for help on their mobile phone and Dun Laoghaire lifeboat managed to find them.
Crew member Mark McGibney says rolling sea fog can quickly come ashore:
Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard posted about their busy day on Facebook.

In a separate incident yesterday, a girl was rescued by the Dun Laoghaire Coast Guard after breaking her leg between Bullock Harbour and Pilot View.
A group of teenagers were climbed the rock face to do some diving, when the accident happened.
