Two teenagers who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old schoolgirl in a Galway apartment, and recorded some of the incident on a phone, have been jailed for 18 months each for the assault.

It was  a 3 year sentence but the final 18 months of both sentences were suspended.

Fiona Doyle was abused by her father Patrick O'Brien once a week from the age of eight - he pleaded guilty to 16 charges of the rape and indecent assault of his daughter from 1973 to 1982.

He was given a 12 year sentence with 9 years suspended in January 2013.

She has been waiting 21 months for her appeal to be heard.

Fiona Doyle spoke to Newstalk Lunchtime today and Jonathan began by asking Fiona how hard it is to go through the court system and whether there is a way that it could be made easier or quicker for a victim to find out if justice has been served:
