I was just wondering how exactly the public sector pay cut will be implemented?

Is it anyone on the books on Jan 1st will have the relevant %subtracted from their gross salary or will it be levied from their paypacket month by month?

The administrative details have not yet been announced.  However, we would assume that gross salary will be reduced and this in turn will reduce monthly pay.  This will result in a proportionate reduction in the amount of tax, PRSI, income levy and pension levy paid.  The paycuts will take effect from 1 January 2010.
