Newstalk 106 – 108 FM has today become the first Irish broadcast media outlet to release an iPad app.
The Newstalk iPad app features all the popular features of the station’s iPhone app (listen live, archive, podcasts, latest news) with the added feature of live video streaming from our Newstalk TV studio cameras. Newstalk TV will also feature on the iPhone app from today.
The Newstalk iPad app also introduces an alerts feature, where listeners can choose to keep up to date with breaking news and Newstalk news and events. (Users can also easily unsubscribe from Newstalk app alerts)
Speaking ahead of the launch, Newstalk CEO Frank Cronin said “Apps have become an important part of our station infrastructure. Our ‘official’ JNLR listenership figures may be on the up, but add those listening live online on the web or via our android, iphone or ipad apps and we are a substantially larger audience.”
“The fact that we are the first Irish broadcaster to launch an iPad app shows our progressive streak and our commitment to our online/mobile audience. We’re also delighted to introduce our live video feed to iPad users and shortly iphone users too.”
The Newstalk 106 – 108 FM iPad app, developed by All in Media is available on the iTunes App Store now.
