Speaking today, Frank Cronin, Chief Executive of Newstalk 106-108 fm, said:
“We are very happy that, unlike all the other national stations, Newstalk has continued to grow its audience. We have continually invested in the station to ensure that our listeners experience the very best of talk radio in the country and today’s figures are a further indication of our success.”
“I believe the growth we are experiencing here at Newstalk is a result of our constructive approach to how we comment on the challenging economic climate the country finds itself in. Irish media needs to change its focus and demonstrate what is right about being Irish and not what is wrong. In Newstalk we are willing to listen to the public and are delighted to be in a position to give them an opportunity to contribute in a positive way.”
