Consumers are still travelling North for their shopping.
New figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show 14% of households made at least one cross-border shopping trip in the year to April.
The frequency of shopping trips rose to an average of 8.6% in the year which is up from 6.7% in the previous period.
However the proportion of households in Dublin heading to the North fell from 21% to 15%.
Director of Retail Ireland Turloch Denihan says there is evidence the flow of shoppers north is abating.
