Ireland has the potential to create jobs and restore competitiveness if it capitalises on an opportunity to get involved in Cloud computing.
A new report compiled by Goodbody for Microsoft Ireland says Ireland should move quickly to establish a Global Cloud Computing Centre of Excellence.
The report suggests Cloud computing could create €9.5 billion in annual sales by 2014 providing almost 9,000 jobs.
Cloud computing offers technology centres online so smaller businesses can access these large data centres where information is managed, secured and delivered to users when they need it.
