Gilmore says Kenny needs to step up to debate

Jan 28th, 2011, 9:42 am

The Labour leader says Enda Kenny should commit to having a 3-way political debate before the general election.

Eamonn Gilmore has increased pressure on the Fine Gael leader to challenge him and Micheál Martin in a televised debate excluding the Green Party and Sinn Fein.

He says he has no problem with a 5-way debate.

But he says it will not help people make up their minds about who should lead the next government.

Speaking in Cork Deputy Gilmore says Enda Kenny should step up to the microphone.
