
There is set to be major disruption around Dublin today as the security operation for the visit by the Queen kicks in.
Rolling road closures and parking restrictions are being imposed across the city and thousands of Gardaí are on the streets.
The Quays in Dublin will close for a period today and diversions will be put in place on the N4, N7 and M50 motorways.
In Dublin Parnell Square East and North Frederick St are closed until further notice.
Parking restrictions are in place on 30 streets.
There is restricted access to Phoenix Park and no parking until Wednesday 25th May.
From 7am all sides of Parnell Square and O’Connell Street in both directions will close.
From 11:30am to 12:30pm temporary road closures will be in place in the Phoenix Park, on South Circular Road from Con Colbert Road to Conyngham Road, on Conyngham Road, Infirmary Road, Parkgate Street and in Chapelizod Village.
From 11:45am-12:15pm there will be rolling traffic calming on the N7/Naas Rd at J4 Rathcoole and on the M50 southbound from J6 Blanchardstown and northbound from J9 Red Cow towards J7 Lucan.
From midday-5pm Westmoreland Street, D’Olier Street, College Street, Nassau Street & South Leinster Street will close.
From midday-6pm the N4/Lucan Road will close inbound at the M50 with diversions onto the M50 both ways.
From 2:30pm-5pm road closures will operate in the Phoenix Park and along the North and South Quays.
From 2:45pm-4:30pm cross traffic on the North and South Quays will be restricted intermittently.
The M8/Dublin/Cork Rd is down to one lane both ways between J7 Cashel North and J9 Cashel South to facilitate the State visit.
Dublin Bus says it will be operating a normal service but it is advising people of diversions on a number of routes and to check their website for the latest updates.
Dublin City Council has advised the public to leave the car at home if possible and the Gardai have advised people to expect delays on their journeys around the city.
Irish Rail says there will be minor disruption to their services but not at peak times.
