More rainfall forecast tonight

Oct 24th, 2011, 5:06 pm

Met Éireann says further spot flooding is likely as heavy rain continues in the East and North.

Although the high winds experienced in many parts yesterday have eased more than an inch of rain is forecast in parts of Leinster and Ulster before tonight.

Drivers are warned this may lead to hazardous driving conditions.

Spells of heavy rain will affect Ulster, Leinster and parts of east Munster.

There will also be patches of light rain with isolated showers set to develop overnight near western coasts.

However drier and brighter weather is expected tomorrow.

But Pat Clarke from Met Éireann says there are still a few hours of heavy rainfall in store of certain parts of the country.
