An Bord Pleanála has granted planning permission for the re-development of the Jurys Hotel site in Ballsbridge in Dublin.
The plans submitted by the Sean Dunne-established Mountbrook Homes have finally been given the green light after a number of amendments.
The scheme includes residential, hotel, retail, childcare, healthcare and restaurant facilities.
However the building of a controversial 37-storey tower were omitted from the most recent application.
It is understood the development company will now examine the feasibility of the project in light of the current economic climate.
The site was purchased for €375 million in 2005.
