Professional networking site, LinkedIn has analysed the CV's of its 1.2 million members in Ireland - and found that "motivated" is the most overused word - just beating "enthusiastic" and "passionate."

It is tough to sell yourself to potential employers without referring to your stellar "track record" or by telling the world just how - "ambitious," "driven" and "creative" you are.

Darain Faraz, a spokesman for LinkedIn recommends that you take a 'show don't tell' approach - illustrating examples of when you used these qualities, rather than just relying on buzzwords.
