17% increase on Daily listenership for Newstalk 106-108 fm

JNLR results released today, 12th November, 2009, show that Newstalk 106–108 fm now reaches 265,000 listeners nationally daily, up 38,000 (up 17%) year on year and reaches 543,000 listeners every week, an increase of 34,000 (up 7%) year on year.

 Other significant highlights from these results include:

- Lunchtime with Eamon Keane has grown by 28%, an increase of 15,000 listeners.

- The Right Hook with George Hook has gained an additional 12,000 listeners, up 12%, and remains the No.1 programme on the station.

- Breakfast with Claire Byrne and Ivan Yates, has increased its audience by 20%, with an additional 13,000 listeners.

- Tom Dunne’s audience is now 73,000 (No year on year comparison as show commenced in Sept 08)

- The station continues its growth outside of Dublin with increases in listenership of 24% across Munster, Connaught, Ulster and rest of Leinster.

 Speaking today, Frank Cronin, Chief Executive of Newstalk 106-108 fm, said: “Along with being the National Station of the Year, I am really pleased with the continued growth of Newstalk, growing audience by 17% is just reward for the quality of output we deliver. In particular I am delighted with our growth in Munster, especially in Cork.”
