Celebrations are taking place in Germany later to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The wall was built by the Soviets in 1961 to separate West Berlin and stop East Germans fleeing to the capitalist West.

Bringing down the wall paved the way for the end of Communism in Europe.
