A 23-year-old Dublin man, who was left on life support after being attacked in Sydney has died.

Gearóid Walsh, sustained serious head injuries during a row outside a takeaway in the suburb of Coogee on Sunday last.

He’d only been in Australia for a month and was out celebrating his sister’s birthday when the incident happened.

The Department of Foreign Affairs is providing consular assistance to Gearoid’s family.
