The Commercial Court has heard witnesses are now being interviewed as part of an investigation into possible breaches of company law at Anglo Irish Bank.
The Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement was today given a further 6 months to conduct the probe which centres on the actions of 20 employees at the bank.
Millions of documents have been seized as part of the investigation into the affairs of Anglo Irish Bank.
Mr Justice Peter Kelly said it was quite a daunting task which is being undertaken by the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement.
It’s looking into possible breaches of the Companies Acts at the bank – involving a firm giving financial assistance for the purchase of its own shares.
The court heard Anglo is co-operating with the investigation, which centres on the actions of 20 employees between January 2008 and last February.
The judge has given the ODCE a further 6 months to continue its work.
