American band The Strokes have been named as the creators of the best album of the decade.

Their debut “Is This It” has topped a poll of the finest releases of the noughties.

Guitar-based acts dominate the list by music magazine NME.

The Libertines came second, with Primal Scream and Arctic Monkeys in third and fourth.
