U2 to play free gig

Rockers U2 are going to play a free show in Germany next month.
 
They’ll perform at the Brandenburg Gate to mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall.

The November the 5th performance will be beamed live at the MTV Europe Music Awards -which are taking place in the German capital.

“It’ll be an exciting spot to be in, 20 years almost to the day since the wall came down,” said U2′s manager Paul McGuinness. “Should be fun.”

According to MTV Networks International, tickets to attend the gig will be free of charge and are available u2.com and mtvema.com from this morning.

Jay-Z and Robbie Williams are among the acts due to perform at the annual MTV show, one of the biggest pop music awards ceremonies to be held outside the United States.
