A Limerick taxi driver is due to be sentenced today for raping a passenger.

43-year-old John Ryan, of Clonard, Westbury attacked the woman on October 17th, 2007.

It took the jury over ten hours to return a majority guilty verdict at his trial last month.

He was remanded in custody to be sentenced at the Central Criminal Court today.
