NERA sees increase in calls

The National Employment Rights Authority secured over €2.3 million in unpaid wages for workers from their employers during 2009.

NERA dealt with almost 150,000 calls for assistance over the last year – up from 108,000 calls the previous year – an increase of 38%.

The authority’s officials also carried out more than 22,000 inspections during 2009.
