New Year’s Eve celebrations are already underway in parts of the world.

Christmas Island in the Pacific Ocean was the first place to see in 2010.

New Zealand’s the latest country to welcome in the New Year – which will be followed by Australia.

The annual fireworks display will take place over Auckland’s Sky Tower – as 2010 arrives down under.

In Sydney, around 1.5 million people are expected to watch the fireworks over the iconic Harbour Bridge.
