UK inquiry into Iraq war begins
The man in charge of the Iraq war inquiry has vowed to get to the heart of Britain’s decision to enter the conflict.
The investigation, which could take up to a year, has started this morning.
It will hear evidence from senior civil servants, military and intelligence officials, and Tony Blair.
The hearing began with a moment’s silence to remember those who had died during the conflict.
Sir John Chilcot says his committee won’t shy away from making criticisms – if they’re warranted.
