Wild Side – High Skies, Low Lands

Nov 4th, 2009, 10:06 am

wild-side

In ‘High Skies, Low Lands’ the listener is brought on a wildlife ramble through the North Slob in Co. Wexford, an impressive wetland reclaimed from the sea over 150 years ago. Experience the unique sound of the spring song of the Natterjack Toad (Ireland’s rarest amphibian), the Woodcock patrolling the tree tops as he calls to his mate, the noisy chatter of a Heronry in summer and the wild, evocative sound of thousands of Greenland White-fronted Geese filling the night sky on their way to their winter roost.
