Flooding

Nov 25th, 2009, 7:30 pm

Listen back to some of the people we’ve heard from in recent days who have been affected by the flooding across Ireland.

Brid Trainer is from Cahirlee in Claregalway. She’s lost everything in the floods, as she told Henry McKean:

Flooding was still causing major problems in Co. Galway today. Local Councillor Bridie Willers was one of those experiencing the fallout first hand:

Michael Murphy from Hibernian Aviva spoke to George on the show and advised any customers affected by the floods to call their 24 Hour helpline on 1850 666 888.

An Tanaiste Mary Coughlan told reporters that the government intends to work with the banks and insurance companies as part of the relief effort.

Newstalk’s Southern Correspondent Jonathan Healy spoke to 8O-year-old Jack Falvey who resides on the northside of Cork City. Jack was philosophical about events.
