FIFA reject Irish replay request, as Keano takes aim at FAI…

The FAI have confirmed they will discuss FIFA’s decision to reject their request for a replay of the World Cup play-off match with France at a board meeting this afternoon.

In a response to a request made by the FAI yesterday, the world governing body have ruled that the result cannot be changed, insisting decisions are taken by the referee and these decisions are final.

It’s also being reported that the French Football Federation have categorically dismissed the notion of them agreeing to a replay…

Meanwhile Roy Keane has slammed the FAI’s handling of Wednesday night’s controversy, insisting Ireland would have qualified if they had taken their chances over the two legs…

The Ipswich Town boss has also taken the opportunity for a swipe at FAI Chief Executive John Delaney, saying he was not a man in a position to be speaking on integrity in the game of football.
