Soccer – FAI accept no replay will take place against France
The FAI have today accepted that no replay between the Republic of Ireland and France will take place following Wednesday’s events in Paris.
FAI CEO John Delaney today said he was disappointed by the French Football Federation’s statement last night. The FFF once again turned down the FAI’s request for a World Cup replay between Ireland and France following Thierry Henry’s handball.
Delaney and the FAI want to thank our players, the Irish fans and the public for their support over the past few days. Delaney also said the FAI will continue to call on FIFA to take action to ensure that such cheating will never take place again in the future.
