Westwood takes Dubai World Championship and Race to Dubai

Lee Westwood has won the Dubai World Championship, which also means he’s
claimed the inaugural Race to Dubai title.

Westwood took the Dubai World Championship finishing on 23 under, five clear of Ross McGowan and 8 clear of Ireland’s Rory McIlroy.

McIlroy was bidding to become the youngest winner since a young man called Severiano Ballesteros became the European number one in 1976, but needed to win in Dubai to remain ahead of Westwood and claim top spot.
