At the 2009 PPI (Phonographic Performance Ireland) Radio Awards announced on Friday 2nd October, Newstalk 106-108 fm, Ireland’s independent national talk-radio station, walked away with 7 awards including the coveted National Station of the Year.
Frank Cronin, Chief Executive said: “What an achievement to be recognised as the best station in the county by your peers. It is especially an honour when the country needs to talk about the important issues that they face at these times. Newstalk is delighted that our performance is of national merit; picking up National Station of the Year and another 6 awards from across our programming is a wonderful accomplishment.”
