Cannabis recovered in Wicklow

Nov 4th, 2009, 9:59 am

Cannabis worth over €1 million has been recovered during a joint operation involving Gardai and customs in County Wicklow.

The drugs – weighing a hundred kilos – had arrived through Dublin Port from Holland concealed in a consignment of lamps and clothing.

The cannabis was seized in an operation yesterday at Hempstown near Blessington.

Investigations into the organised crime gang behind the seizure are continuing.
