When guests entered the doors of Ouzos Restaurant in Dalkey on Tuesday night there was a big surprise in store for them – George was serving behind the bar!

They were warmly welcomed by Pat Kenny and Lisa Murphy, the Maitre D’s for the evening, who showed them to their tables and served them a glass of champagne. Their waiter or waitress which could have been any of the following, Glenda Gilson, DJ Carey, Louis Copeland, Rosanna Davison or Brent Pope, then took their order and looked after them personally and attentively for the evening. They were then brought through the wine list by sommeliers Tom Doorley and Paolo Tullio who looked after all their wine requirements with absolute enthusiasm.  And, of course, George looked the part behind the bar ensuring all guests got served quickly and with a smile !!!!

To add to all the fun, celebrities took part in a karaoke where diners paid to have celebrities sing a song – George  and Popey performed and Pat Kenny and Gerald Kean sang an unforgettable rendition of “Strangers in the Night”. Guests had an absolute ball with some booking their places already for next year !

Guests paid €250 a ticket with Ouzos staff working free of charge. All food and house wine was donated by Ouzos suppliers with all proceeds from the evening going to the LauraLynn House.
