Harney defends use of government jet

Mary Harney says every trip she and other Ministers make on the Government Jet are totally legitimate.

The Health Minister has been named as the top spender on the jet – costing the taxpayer 735,000 euro in just two and a half years.

Speaking in Dublin this afternoon, Ms Harney insisted there was no waste of money- saying the vast bulk of travel is to EU meetings.
