A man is continuing to be questioned this morning by gardai investigating the activities of dissident republicans.

The 33 year old was arrested yesterday by armed members of the Emergency Response Unit on the M1 motorway outside Dundalk.

A quantity of ammunition was seized in the jeep he was driving.

The man’s being questioned at Drogheda Garda Station and can be held for up to three days.
