Pedestrian (53) killed in Dublin crash

Nov 15th, 2009, 12:48 pm

A 53 year old woman is the latest person to lose her life on the country’s roads.

A car mounted a footpath on the Malahide road in Dublin just after two o’clock this morning crashing into a group of pedestrians.

Three people suffered injuries – one man is being treated in the Mater Hopital.

The driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of drink driving, however he has since been released.

The death comes as services are held throughout the country to mark World Remembrance Day for Road Traffic Victims.

Over 22 thousand people have died on Irish roads since records began.
