Two 19-year-old men are in Garda custody in connection with the murder of John Deasy in Arklow on Wednesday.

The 45-year-old shopkeeper was fatally stabbed when he went to the aid of a colleague during a robbery at his premises in the town.

The teenagers, who were arrested on Friday afternoon, are being questioned at Arklow and Wicklow Garda Stations.

Gardai are investigating a possible link between the attack and other robberies in the town in recent months.
