Aer Lingus chief calls for single European airspace

Apr 30th, 2010, 10:28 am

The Aer Lingus chief executive is calling for the co-ordination of a single European airspace, in the wake of the volcanic ash crisis.

Christoph Mueller says it is imperative that officials accept the necessity for changes to the current system of remaining within national borders.

The airline has said it expects to take a profit hit of about €20 million as a result of the problem.
