There were just two games tonight in the Premier Division of the Airtricity League. Galway United beat Bray Wanderers by two goals to one at Terryland Park tonight. Goals from Karl Sheppard and Derek O’Brien within a six-minute spell gave Galway all three-points, despite Philip Knight pulling one back for the visitors before half-time. Elsewhere, Sporting Fingal were at home for the first time in the top-flight. The FAI Ford Cup champions, were held to a one-all draw by Sligo Rovers at Morton Stadium. In the First Division, Cork City Foras suffered a defeat in their first game at Turners Cross as Waterford United registered a 2-0 win over their Munster rivals. Mark Farren scored the only goal of the game as Derry City came away from Limerick with all three points. Elsewhere, Longford Town scored two late goals to snatch a two-all draw with Monaghan United and Finn Harps were 2-0 winners over Salthill Devon at Finn Park.
