The Benhaffaf Cork twins will have to spend several months recovering at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London following their marathon 14 hour separation surgery.

Hussein and Hassan from Carrigtwohill are in a stable condition in intensive care this morning after their operation which got underway on Tuesday night.

Their parents have thanked everyone involved in the operation and all those who kept the boys in their thoughts and prayers.

They said their two little fighters had won the battle of their lives.
