BSkyB has reported operating profits of more than stg£400 (€463) million over the last six months.
This weekend the company looks to make TV history, launching Europe’s first dedicated 3D channel.
It’ll also be the first in the world to show a live sports event in 3D as BSkyB’s Chief Executive Jeremy Darroch explains.
“We’re kicking off on Sunday with Arsenal versus Manchester United, which will run in a number of pubs up and down the country” he said.
“We’ll then launch a ‘pubs and clubs’ service in the first half of this year, and then we’ll take 3D to homes as 3D TVs start to become more common” he added.
A Dublin pub is one of 9 selected across the UK and Ireland to show the first ever live sports event football match in 3D.
However, the corporation will not reveal which pubs they are.
