Consumers ended 2009 on a pessimistic note.

The latest KBC Ireland/ESRI Consumer Sentiment Index went down slightly in December, compared to the previous month.

But there’s been a moderate improvement when the figures are compared year on year, showing that although people were cautious, they were notably more confident than the same time in 2008.
