Ericsson to cut 1,500 jobs

Jan 25th, 2010, 10:19 am

Telecoms company Ericsson says it’s cutting another 1,500 jobs worldwide.

It’s after a massive 92% fall in quarterly profits.

The company, which has a Research and Development base in Clonskeagh in Dublin, shed 300 jobs last year.

It also has bases in Dún Laoghaire in Dublin and Athlone in Co. Westmeath.

It’s not yet known if the company’s Irish operations will be affected in the latest round of job losses.
