German economy sees large growth

New figures show the German economy has roared ahead with the biggest growth in 23 years.

Initial figures show it expanded by 2.2% in the 3 months to June.

The growth was backed by a rise in orders and increasing confidence from businesses and consumers.

As the biggest economy in Europe Germany is seen as key to the strength of the eurozone.
