We are more worried about personal finances, says survey

Aug 9th, 2010, 12:15 pm

A new survey has found we are feeling more negative about our personal finances.

The latest KBC consumer sentiment report has found our expectations weakened in July.

It says consumers are more concerned now about their household finances.

Economist with KBC Austin Hughes says it appears we are still worried about economic recovery.

“What happened last month is that consumers are taking a step back and saying (that) things have gotten a little bit better, but they’re still not great” he said.

“It’s in that sense a reality check by consumers – and one that’s quite important – because it tells us that while the economy may be turning, it’s still very fragile” he added.
