CCFC appoint new manager

Feb 24th, 2010, 9:30 pm

Cork City Foras Co-op have moved quickly to appoint a manager ahead of the League of Ireland First Division. The club that has been born out of the collapse of Cork City FC have announced that Tommy Dunne has agreed to become their first team manager for the 2010 season. Having fulfilled the role of assistant manager in Cork in the 2009 season, Dunne has plenty of experience and qualifications for the job. Dunne was the preferred candidate of the new club’s Board of Management. Speaking on his appointment, Dunne stated: “It’s a job I would always have liked and I’m delighted to take it on. Last year was an enjoyable year for me even though there were problems with the club. I’ve enjoyed being in Cork, the people, and playing in Turner’s Cross and the atmosphere there. It’s an exciting job and I’m looking forward to getting started.”
