City host Wigan as top four race hots up

Mar 29th, 2010, 11:44 am

The race for the fourth and final champions league place continues tonight as Manchester City welcome Wigan to Eastlands in the Premier League.

City lie 5 points adrift of Tottenham who currently occupy 4th spot, while they would leapfrog Liverpool and into 5th with victory tonight.

3 points would also be of the utmost importance to Wigan who are just 4 points above the relegation zone.

Emmanuel Adebayor is expected to return to the City line-up after completing a four match ban.

However Stephen Ireland remains a doubt with a shin injury.

Republic of Ireland international James McCarthy should continue his recent good run of form in the Wigan midfield.
