The future of Cork City remains unclear this evening as events continue to unfold on Leeside. 15 players and a some staff members met this morning to say they won’t work under current owner Tom Caughlan in the future, while a salary cap of e750 euros per-week has been introduced by the club.
Reports suggest Caughlan is continuing to find a buyer for City with local businessmen Michael O’Connell and Jim McCarthy in talks to take over. The club had until the close of business today to pay outstanding debts with the hope of recieving a League of Ireland club licence for next season.
