Aston Villa defender Richard Dunne will miss the Republic of Ireland’s friendly against Brazil tomorrow at Emirates Stadium after picking up a muscle problem.
The centre-back played the full 90 minutes in yesterday’s Carling Cup final defeat to Manchester United at Wembley, but has now withdrawn from Giovanni Trapattoni’s squad.
The Italian, however, will not be calling up a replacement.
Dunne joins Robbie Keane on the absentee list, the Irish skipper aggravated a knee problem during yesterday’s Old Firm defeat to Rangers. His place in the squad has been taken by Hibs striker Anthony Stokes.
