Charlotte Church is set to become part of the education curriculum in Wales.
Pupils are to study the singer’s speech as part of a modern language element.
A Welsh Examining Board has released a list of 50 famous people students can analyse.
They include comedian Rob Brydon and Gavin and Stacey star Ruth Jones.
Chairman of the Campaign for Real Education Nick Seaton does not think they are good role models.
“At present, employers and university tutors and parents everywhere are complaining that young people’s standard of written and spoken English isn’t good enough” he said.
“So to spend valuable time studying the language of Charlotte Church and Dawn French just seems a distraction, really” he added.
