New ‘Doctor Who’ Matt Smith has been stopped at Heathrow airport – for taking a sonic screwdriver through security.

The actor was flying to Belfast when a scanner revealed the iconic prop in his hand luggage.

Security didn’t recognise it and asked the ‘Doctor’ to explain what it was.

They decided not to let him take it on the plane – until he showed them some pictures of him in character holding the device.
