UK watchdog rejects Gately complaint

Feb 18th, 2010, 10:30 am

The UK’s newspaper watchdog has rejected a complaint about an article written after the death of Boyzone star Stephen Gately.

The Daily Mail columnist Jan Moir had come under fire for an article she had written following the death of the singer last year.

The Press Complaints Commission turned down an objection from his partner Andrew Cowles and 25,000 others, on the grounds of free speech.
