The oldest film event in Europe has kicked off.
The Venice Film Festival runs until 11th September.
This year the premieres include Natalie Portman’s new ballet film “Black Swan”.
The actress was joined on the red carpet by Quentin Tarantino.
The film director is President of the 2010 Festival jury.
